تم في هذا البحث دراسة الخواص المويجية للسلسلة الزمنية المهمة والتي تعرف بسلسلة البقع الشمسية بهدف التحقق من الدورية التي قد توصل إليها الباحثون الآخرون عن طريق التحليل الطيفي ، وملاحظة التغير في طول الدورة من جهة وتحركها الانتقالي من جهة أخرى.
تم إجراء تحليل مويجي مستمر للسلسلة ورصدت فيها الدورية بشكل أولي. وزيادة في الدقة تم تجزئة السلسلة الى مكوناتها التقريبية والجانبية لخمسة مستويات وإجراء التنقية لهذه المكونات باستخدام حدود عتبات ثابتة مرة وحدود عتبات مستقلة (غير ثابتة) مرة أخرى ومن ثم إيجاد سلسلة التشويش التي تمثل الفرق بين السلسلة الأصلية والسلسلة المركبة بعد التنقية والتي يفترض ان تكون اقرب الى التشويش الأبيض. كانت النتائج تدل ان هناك عدم انتظام في طول الدورة الموجية وشدتها كما ان هناك حركة انتقالية واضحة لهذه الدورات .
