لقد تعددت الآراء والأفكار حول ماهية العلاقة ما بين النمو والإصلاح الاقتصادي سواءً في الاقتصادات المتقدمة أم النامية. بيد أن من المعتقد أن هنالك علاقة بينهما، ومن هنا جاء البحث ليبين ماهي العلاقة بينهما في الاقتصاد العراقي. إذ أستند البحث الى فرضية مفادها أن الإصلاح الاقتصادي في العراق يؤدي إلى تباطؤ النمو في ظل معدلات مرتفعة من التضخم، وقد ضم البحث محاور خمسة، فضلاً عن الخاتمة التي بينت بين طياتها الاستنتاج الرئيس الذي توصل اليه البحث، وهو عدم تطابق فرضية البحث مع الواقع الاقتصادي في العراق، إذ أثبتت الدراسة وجود علاقة طردية بينهما.
